I made a skirt from a shirt
Several months ago, I saw a tutorial to wear a men’s shirt as a skirt without cutting, but it looked pretty silly, I’m I’m honest with myself:

I really wanted to learn how to turn it into an actual skirt. A couple of weeks ago, I finally found a tutorial on how to do it. Here’s a few of my steps, and how I changed from the original:
Start with a men’s shirt (I had a 2XL for extra length):

Follow the steps in the linked tutorial. I used a drawstring instead of elastic so I could wear it at either my waist or my hips.
Since the tut was geared toward a girl’s skirt, it ended up way too short for my modest taste:

I knew it would, and I had a plan. I had some white eyelet fabric I could use to lengthen it.
I turned the skirt inside out and pinned the fabric straight across all the way around the inside:

Then I turned it right side out, and sewed (very slowly and carefully) along the bottom edge of the shirt hem, trying to stay right by the original hem.
When I finished, I hemmed the bottom of the white fabric and trimmed off the excess at the top. (No pics of these steps.)
Tada!
